The Boston Symphony Orchestra has announced details of its 2017 Tanglewood season, which will include a July 8 performance of the 2010 Broadway musical Sondheim on Sondheim.
The Boston Symphony Orchestra will back a cast of Broadway performers as part of the 8 PM concert. Set to appear are Phillip Boykin, Carmen Cusack, Lisa Howard, and Tony Award winner Gabriel Ebert. Sarna Lapine will direct.
The production incorporates live performances and film commentary from Sondheim. The Tanglewood production will premiere new orchestrations for Sondheim on Sondheim arranged for a full orchestra.
