Following President-Elect Donald Trump’s tweet asking the cast of Hamilton to apologize to Vice President-Elect Mike Pence after directing their November 18 curtain speech at him, Trump supporters took to Twitter—but some tagged the wrong handle.
Following Hamilton Theatre Inc.’s November 18 performance of The Toxic Avenger, which runs in Hamilton, ON, through November 27, the company was tagged in an onslaught of tweets directed at the Broadway musical Hamilton.
Riane Leonard, who runs the Twitter account for Hamilton Theatre Inc. (@HamiltonTheatre), told CNNMoney, “The first one I saw was something like, ‘I’m never supporting Hamilton Theatre again.’ I wondered what we could have done to upset this person because I thought it had been a really good show.”
