International News Broadway’s Original Jasmine, Courtney Reed, Joins London Aladdin The Disney musical plays the Prince Edward Theatre in the West End.

Courtney Reed, who created the role of Princess Jasmine in the Broadway production of Disney’s Aladdin, returns to the part April 23 in the London staging of the hit musical at the Prince Edward Theatre.

Reed, who makes her West End debut with the musical, has also been seen on Broadway in In the Heights and Mamma Mia! She joins a cast headed by Matthew Croke in the title role and Trevor Dion Nicholas as the Genie.

Aladdin opened in London June 15, 2016. The musical continues on Broadway at the New Amsterdam Theatre and across North America in a touring production.

The stage show, which expands the 90-minute film into a two-act format, features music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, and a book and additional lyrics by Chad Beguelin. Casey Nicholaw directs and choreographs.
