Cabaret & Concert News Broadway Vet Kurt Peterson Brings Musical Memoir Solo Show Proud Ladies to NYC October 10

The Dear World and Follies star will share lessons learned by working with such luminaries as Angela Lansbury, Ethel Merman, Elaine Stritch, and more.

Broadway Dear World and Follies star Kurt Peterson brings his solo show Proud Ladies to NYC with a performance at Kaufman Music Center's Merkin Hall October 10 at 7 PM.

The evening is directed by Lisa Asher and features music direction by Ian Herman, musical staging by Joshua Bergasse, and projection design by Jason Lee Courson. Peterson will be backed by a band including Herman on piano, Peter Sachon on cello, Ray Kilday on bass, and Ray Marchica on drums.

Described as a "musical memoir," Proud Ladies allows Peterson to share the story of his career in the theatre, including life lessons imparted by 23 of the theatre's most beloved women, including Laura Benanti, Betty Buckley, Dorothy Collins, Yvonne de Carlo, Carole Demas, Patricia Elliott, Katharine Hepburn, Cady Huffman, Angela Lansbury, Rebecca Luker, Patti LuPone, Victoria Mallory, Donna McKechnie, Ethel Merman, Dina Merrill, Bernadette Peters, Faith Prince, Kelli O’Hara, Paige O’Hara, Ethel Shutta, Alexis Smith, Elaine Stritch, and Nancy Walker.
