News Broadway Stars Line Up for Summer of Seven Musicals at the Muny Additional principal casting has been announced for The Muny's upcoming 97th season, which kicks off June 15 with the classic American musical My Fair Lady.

The cast of the Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe musical, which runs June 15-21, will be led by Anthony Andrews (Henry Higgins), Alexandra Silber (Eliza Doolittle) and Michael Mccormick (Alfred P. Doolittle). My Fair Lady is directed by Marc Bruni, choreographed by Chris Bailey and music-directed by Ben Whiteley. The production will also feature scenic design by Tim Mackabee, costume design by Amy Clark, lighting design by John Lasiter, sound design by John Shivers and Hugh Sweeney and video design by Nathan Scheuer. Wig design is by Leah Loukas, and the production stage manager is Nevin Hedley.

The Tony-winning musical Hairspray will be presented June 23-30 with a cast that includes Bryan Batt (Edna Turnblad), Ryann Redmond (Tracy Turnblad), Christopher J. Hanke (Corny Collins) and Liz Mikel. Hairspray will be directed and choreographed by Dan Knechtges and music-directed by Charlie Alterman with scenic design by Robert Mark Morgan, costume design by Leon Dobkowski, lighting design by Rob Denton, sound design by John Shivers and Hugh Sweeney and video design by Matthew Young. Wig design is by Leah Loukas, and the production stage manager is Lynda Lavin.

Irving Berlin’s Holiday Inn, which runs July 6-12, will feature Patti Murin (Linda Mason), Colin Donnell (Jim Hardy), Noah Racey (Ted Hanover) and Nancy Opel (Louise Badger). Gordon Greenberg will direct the production, which will be choreographed by Denis Jones and music-directed by James Moore. Holiday Inn will also have scenic design by Tim Mackabee, costume design by Alejo Vietti, lighting design by Rob Denton, sound design by John Shivers and Hugh Sweeney and video design by Nathan Scheuer. Wig design is by Leah Loukas, and the production stage manager is Monica Dickhens.

Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story will play the St. Louis venue July 13-19 with a cast led by Andy Christopher (Buddy Holly) and John Scherer (Hipockets Duncan). Marcia Milgrom Dodge will direct with choreography by Josh Walden and music direction by Michael Horsley. The limited run will have scenic design by Robert Mark Morgan, costume design by Tracy Christensen, lighting design by Nathan Scheuer, sound design by John Shivers and Hugh Sweeney and video design by Matthew Young. Wig design is by John Metzner, and the production stage manager is Nevin Hedley.

Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Into the Woods will be presented July 21-27. Tony winner Heather Headley will head the cast as the Witch, with Erin Dilly (Baker’s Wife), Ken Page (Narrator), Andrew Samonsky (Cinderella’s Prince/Wolf) and Ryan Silverman (Rapunzel’s Prince). The creative team includes director Gary Griffin, choreographer Chris Bailey and music director Brad Haak with scenic design by Michael Schweikardt, costume design by Andrea Lauer, lighting design by Rob Denton, sound design by John Shivers and Hugh Sweeney and video design by Matthew Young. Wig design is by Leah Loukas, and the production stage manager is Monica Dickhens. Disney’s Beauty And The Beast, which will run July 29-Aug. 7, will feature Kate Rockwell (Belle) and Nicholas Rodriguez (Beast) in the leading roles. The family favorite will be directed by Matt Lenz, choreographed by Vince Pesce and music-directed by Ben Whiteley. The musical will also have scenic design by Robert Mark Morgan, costume design by Robin L. McGee, lighting design by Nathan Scheuer, sound design by John Shivers and Hugh Sweeney and video design by Matthew Young. Wig design is by John Metzner, and the production stage manager is Matt Lacey.

The season will conclude Aug. 10-16 with the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic Oklahoma! featuring Ben Davis (Curly), Christine Cornish Smith (Laurey), Alexander Gemignani (Jud Fry) and Beth Leavel (Aunt Eller). Rob Ruggiero will direct with choreography by Susan Stroman, restaged by Ginger Thatcher, and music direction by Kevin Stites. The production will also have scenic design by Michael Schweikardt, costume design by Amy Clark, lighting design by John Lasiter, sound design by John Shivers and Hugh Sweeney and video design by Rob Denton. Wig design is by John Metzner, and the production stage manager is Monica Dickhens.
