News "Broadway Legacy" Celebrates Tony Award Winner LaChanze! Christian Dante White teamed with celebrity photographer Brent Dundore to launch "Broadway Legacy," a photographic and editorial exhibition that celebrates African American achievement in the Broadway industry. Every other week, this series will focus on a different individual's accomplishments and inspirations. This week: Tony Award winner LaChanze!

LaChanze played the role of Ti Moune in the Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty musical Once on This Island in 1990 and received nominations for the Tony Awardas Best Featured Actress in a Musical and Drama Desk Award as Outstanding Actress in a Musical.

She won the Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical in 2006 for her role in The Color Purple. Last seen on Broadway in If/Then in the role of Kate.
