Musical Theatre Factory, under the direction of founding artistic director Shakina Nayfack, presents a concert version of Barrington Stage Company’s production of Broadway Bounty Hunter, starring Annie Golden, September 26 at Joe’s Pub.

The evening is the first of five Joe’s Pub concerts in MTF’s ten-month lineup of developmental residencies, Joe’s Pub concerts, 4X15’s and salons for the 2016-17 season. A full season lineup will be announced.

Broadway Bounty Hunter features music and lyrics by Joe Iconis and a book by Iconis, Lance Rubin and Jason SweetTooth Williams.

At the 9:30 PM concert, Golden is joined by Alan H. Green, Scott Watanabe, Jeff McCarthy, Badia Farha, Jason Veasey, Anastacia McCleskey, George Salazar, Shannon Tyo, Kourtney Keitt and Porsha Putney.

The Broadway Bounty Hunter band features musical director Joel Waggoner (keyboard), Josh Plotner (flute/sax/shakuhachi/keys II), Matt Brown (guitar), Nick Frenay (trumpet/flugabone), Tom Jorgenson (drums) and Will Hack (bass).

A season launch party follows the concert.

Here’s how the show is billed: “Inspired by the exploitation movies of the 1970s (think Shaft or Enter the Dragon), this rafter-shaking new musical follows down-on-her-luck actor Annie (played by Annie Golden) as she’s asked to become a bounty hunter and capture a South American drug lord. With an instant-classic R&B/Funk score, the musical follows a woman of a certain age as she tries to find the inner strength she needs to save theatre and realize her true badass identity. Starring an electric and diverse cast led by Alan H. Green, Scott Watanabe, and Jeff McCarthy, be among the first to catch a glimpse of the show that everyone is talking about. Ready or not, here comes Annie Golden: Bounty Hunter!”
