Broadway's favorite charity striptease is officially back in 2023, with this year's Broadway Bares set for June 18 at NYC's Hammerstein Ballroom. Theming for this year's event is to be announced. As ever, Broadway Bares is produced by and benefits Broadway Cares. There will be two performances, at 9:30 PM and midnight, with both featuring large-scale burlesque numbers, featuring a host of Broadway performers, and very little clothing.

The evening will be directed by Laya Barak, who led the last three in-person editions of the burlesque benefit. Barak will be joined by co-director Kellen Stancil, a frequent Broadway Bares choreographer and dance captain at Broadway's The Lion King. Jonathan Lee is again serving as associate director, with Jerry Mitchell and Nick Kenkel, a longtime Bares director and performer, acting as executive producers.

Broadway Bares was created in 1992 by Mitchell as a way to raise awareness and money for those living with HIV/AIDS. While working as a dancer on Broadway, Mitchell and six of his friends raised $8,000 with the first iteration. COVID-safe virtual presentations were given in 2020 and 2021, with 2022 seeing the triumphant return to an in-person event. Since 1988, Broadway Bares has raised more than $21 million for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, including $1.9 million in last year's edition alone.

Tickets, starting at $75, are available at Additional packages are available—which include such perks as speciality cocktails, a private cocktail party with Mitchell, and access to the final "undressed" rehearsal the evening of the show.
