Industry News Brenda Braxton Hosts June 28 Villain: DeBlanks Murder Mystery NYC’s The Green Room 42 hosts the Wednesday night summer series with a rotating cast.

Tony-nominated dancer-singer-choreographer Brenda Braxton is hosting and co-starring in a summertime weekly performance of the audience-participation murder-mystery show Villain: DeBlanks, running each Wednesday at The Green Room 42 nightspot in Manhattan.

Described by creator Billy Mitchell as “Clue meets adult Mad Libs,” Villain: DeBlanks asks the audience to provides nouns, adjectives, verbs, etc. to tell the story of Philip DeBlanks’ untimely demise. The performers act out the resulting script.

The series boasts rotating casts that change weekly. Guests for the June 28 Show include Trent Armand Kendall (Into the Woods, Bat Boy), Capathia Jenkins (The Wiz Live on NBC, Newsies), Hugh Hysell (Perfect Crime, Big Gay Italian Wedding), Jeanne Montano (Cats, Forbidden Broadway), and original DeBlanks cast member Benjamin Holmes.

Braxton told Playbill that a portion of the proceeds will go to Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund. Besides which, she said, “The show is great fun for a good cause.”

Tickets for the 8:30 PM show cost $20–$25 (no drink minimum), and can be ordered at Villaindeblanks.com. The Green Room 42 is located at Yotel, 570 Tenth Avenue at 42nd Street, fourth floor.
