Gingold Theatrical Group (GTG) has announced its 2024 Golden Shamrock Gala will be held September 23 at 6 PM at the Robert Restaurant. The evening will honor Tony Award-winning songwriting team Lynn Ahrens & Stephen Flaherty with the Golden Shamrock Award.
Performers will include Tony nominee Brenda Braxton (Smokey Joe’s Café, The Good Fight) and Tony winner Santino Fontana (Tootsie), with special material by Michael Mitnick (Scotland, PA).
GTG’s Golden Shamrock Award is given annually to celebrate artistic and cultural contributions to society. Previous recipients include Charles Busch, Tyne Daly, Judith Ivey, Kenneth Lonergan, Kate Mulgrew, Brian Murray, Robert Osborne, Martha Plimpton, Stephen Schwartz, Pamela Singleton, and Tom Viola.
Ahrens and Flaherty's many collaborations include Ragtime, Anastasia, Once on This Island, Seussical, A Man of No Importance, Rocky, and more. The pair has received numerous accolades for their work, including Tony and Olivier Awards as well as Academy Award, Golden Globe, and Grammy nominations.
