London News Bonnie Langford and Jac Yarrow Will Play Brief Run in London's Les Misérables

The international hit musical continues at the Sondheim Theatre.

Prior to starring in Les Misérables The Arena Spectacular—which launches its world tour September 19Bonnie Langford and Jac Yarrow will play a limited engagement in the West End production of the Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg musical.

Langford (Anything Goes, Chicago) and Yarrow (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat) will step into the roles of, respectively, Madame Thénardier and Marius July 15–August 10 at the Sondheim Theatre. (Claire Machin and Will Callan will return to those roles August 12.)

The London cast also currently features Milan van Waardenburg as Jean Valjean, Stewart Clarke as Javert, Katie Hall as Fantine, Amena El-Kindy as Éponine, Lulu-Mae Pears as Cosette, Luke Kempner as Thénardier, and Djavan van de Fliert as Enjolras.

The company is completed by Annabelle Aquino, Hazel Baldwin, Brad Barnley, Michael Baxter, Emily Olive Boyd, Rosy Church, Ben Culleton, Matthew Dale, Matt Dempsey, Sophie-May Feek, Matt Hayden, Tom Hext, Christopher Jacobsen, Jessica Johns-Parsons, Yazmin King, Sam Kipling, Anouk van Laake, Harry Lake, Sarah Lark, Ellie Ann Lowe, Ben Oatley, Adam Pearce, Jordan Simon Pollard, Jonathan Stevens, Phoebe Williams, and Ollie Wray.

This production officially opened January 16, 2020, following previews that began December 18, 2019.

Les Misérables is written by Boublil and Schönberg and is based on the novel by Victor Hugo. It has music by Schönberg, lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer and original French text by Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel, additional material by James Fenton, and an adaptation by Trevor Nunn and John Caird.

Directed by James Powell and Laurence Connor, the Cameron Mackintosh production also features orchestrations by Stephen Metcalfe, Christopher Jahnke, and Stephen Brooker with original orchestrations by John Cameron, designs by Matt Kinley (inspired by the paintings of Victor Hugo), costumes by Andreane Neofitou and Christine Rowland, lighting by Paule Constable, sound by Mick Potter, musical staging by Michael Ashcroft and Geoffrey Garratt, and music supervision by Stephen Brooker and Alfonso Casado Trigo.
