Based on Lewis Carroll's "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland," the presentation will cap a three-week private developmental workshop of the show that began Nov. 30 at MCC, starring Riley Costello, Noah Galvin, Molly Gordon, David Patrick Kelly, Andrew Mueller, Ashley Park, Ben Platt, Anthony Ramos, Emmy Raver-Lampman and Tony nominee Mary Testa. Casting is by Telsey + Company/Craig Burns, CSA.

Alice By Heart, which features a book co-written with Jessie Nelson (screenwriter for "I Am Sam"), is being directed by Lear deBessonet (Good Person of Szechwan, The Tempest), with choreography by Chase Brock (Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark).

Jason Hart is music supervisor, and Chris Fenwick is music director.

The new musical was first developed at London's National Theatre in 2012, as part of the National Theatre's Connections program that unites youth theatres in the U.K. The creators developed a streamlined version that was then presented by young performers across the U.K.

Alice By Heart was again up for development in May 2014 as part of Theatre Aspen's play development series, allowing the creative team to expand the show to its intended full-length format. Among the cast of that workshop were Hamilton's Phillipa Soo, Mike Faist (Newsies) and Riley Costello (Everyday Rapture).
