It may be the holiday season, but Playbill's Instagram is going to get spooky as Broadway Beetlejuice star Kerry Butler takes over our feed December 18. Make sure you're following @Playbill to join Teeter on her two-show day.
Butler stars as Barbara Maitland in the musical based on the 1988 film, playing Broadway's Marquis Theatre through January 8, 2023. A national tour also recently launched.
The musical debuted on Broadway at the Winter Garden Theatre March 28, 2019, and opened April 25. Its initial engagement earned eight Tony nominations. Following the COVID-19 shutdown, the show reopened April 8, 2022, at the Marquis Theatre with Tony nominee Alex Brightman reprising the role of the titular poltergeist and The Crucible and The Audience alum Elizabeth Teeter joining the cast for the encore run.
Based on Tim Burton’s cult favorite film, Beetlejuice tells the story of Lydia Deetz, a strange and unusual teenager whose life changes when she meets a recently deceased couple and Beetlejuice, a demon with a thing for stripes. When Lydia calls on Beetlejuice to scare away anyone with a pulse, this double-crossing specter unleashes a (nether)world of pandemonium.

Harriet Walter, Isis Hainsworth, Rosalind Eleazar, and Thusitha Jayasundera star in Alice Birch's "radical" adaptation of the Federico García Lorca play.
The musical transports audiences to 1979 West Virginia, where a mayor is attempting to tear down the region's only Jewish temple to build a RadioShack.
