Beautiful: The Carole King Musical beat out Disney's Aladdin, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, and the San Francisco Symphony's live recording of Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim's West Side Story for Best Musical Theatre Album.
The Disney animated film "Frozen" won for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media, while 2014's biggest song, "Let It Go," by Robert and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, also won for Best Song Written for Visual Media category. Chris Buck, who composed the orchestral score, was nominated in the Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media category but lost out to "The Grand Budapest Hotel."
The late Joan Rivers won the Grammy for Best Spoken Word Album (Includes Poetry, Audio Books & Storytelling) for "Diary of A Mad Diva," beating out Of Mice and Men star James Franco for "Actors Anonymous."
Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett's "Cheek to Cheek" won the Grammy for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album, edging out fellow nominees Barry Manilow's "Night Songs" and Barbra Streisand's new release "Partners."
The documentary "20 Feet From Stardom," featuring Darlene Love, won the Grammy for Best Musical Film. The primary Grammy Awards broadcast is 8 PM ET Feb. 8 on CBS-TV.
