Sixteen-time Grammy winner Alicia Keys will join Lily Ling—the music director of Keys' Tony-nominated musical Hell's Kitchen—for a special streaming interview on behalf of Maestra Music and RISE later this month.

On February 27, beginning at 5 PM ET, Ling and Keys will converse for an hour-long event titled Kaleidoscope Dreams: Unlocking the Potentials in Musical Theatre. Held on Zoom, the event is free and open to the general public.

Ling and Keys' discussion will explore the role of underrepresented voices in the music industry and how musical theatre is evolving under the influence of those voices.

Attendees are encouraged to RSVP early, as space is limited. While tickets are free, a suggested donation to support Maestra’s mission of providing support, visibility, and community for the women and nonbinary musicians in the theatre industry is encouraged. For those unable to attend live, the conversation will be recorded and made available on the Maestra Replay site at a later date.

Maestra Music is the Obie-winning nonprofit founded by Georgia Stitt to support the women and nonbinary musicians in the musical theatre industry, while RISE THEATRE (Representation, Inclusion, & Support for Employment) seeks to build a more equitable and inclusive theatre industry.

“We are honored to welcome Alicia Keys to Maestra and RISE for this special event,” said Stitt in a statement. “Her passion for storytelling through music is a beacon for aspiring artists, and we’re eager to hear her insights alongside Lily Ling, whose leadership in musical direction has been instrumental in bringing Hell's Kitchen to Broadway audiences.”
