A host of stage stars join composer Stephen Schwartz November 19 at 7 PM at The Cutting Room for Orphaned Songs for Orphaned Starfish, which will benefit The Orphaned Starfish Foundation.

In addition to Wicked and Pippin composer Schwartz, the evening also features the talents of Tony winner Ben Vereen (Pippin), Tony winner Alice Ripley (Next to Normal), Tony winner Daisy Eagan (The Secret Garden), Robbie Berson (A Connecticut Christmas Carol), Margot Bingham (Rent, Boardwalk Empire), Lisa Brescia (Dear Evan Hansen), composer-lyricist Craig Carnelia (Sweet Smell of Success), Jacob Dickey (Aladdin), Jenn Gambatese (Wicked, School of Rock), Justin Guarini (Wicked, American Idol), Laurel Harris (Beautiful), Adam Jacobs (Aladdin), Blaine Krauss (The Cher Show), Constantine Maroulis (Rock of Ages, American Idol), Georgina Pazcoguin (Cats), Don Scardino (Godspell), Peggy Gordon (Godspell), Lucia Giannetta (Godspell), Patti Mariano (42nd Street), Nancy McCall (Nine, Godspell), Mark Planner (Jesus Christ Superstar), and Christine Pedi (Forbidden Broadway) as well as a Godspell reunion with musical director Paul Shaffer at the piano.

Scott Coulter hosts the benefit with musical direction by Michael Lavine and direction by Paul Kreppel. Attendees can expect both new and classic songs by the award-winning composer.

The evening also celebrates the release of the updated second edition of the Schwartz biography Defying Gravity by Carol de Giere.

The Orphaned Starfish Foundation is dedicated to helping orphans, victims of abuse, survivors of trafficking, indigenous children, and at-risk youth break their cycles of abuse and poverty through computer-based education, job training, and job placement assistance.
