The Connecticut theatre has announced its 59th annual summer season.

The Eugene O’Neill Theater Center's 59th annual summer season will feature over 30 events, including a series of cabarets headlined Alice RipleyAlton Fitzgerald White, Christine Ebersole, Brad Simmons, Natalie Douglas, Lennie Watts, and Jason Graae.

The Cabaret series will also feature the Cabaret Fellows and Cabaret Junior Fellows.

The season will begin with the National Puppetry Conference. The conference, one of three the Connecticut theatre will host this summer, will present virtual masterclasses taught by Fabrizio Montecchi, Ronnie Burkett, Leslie Carrara-Rudolph, Ty Defoe, and South Miller and performances of work developed during the conference. 

Its second conference will be the National Playwrights Conference, which will develop and present bogfriends by jose sebastian alberdi, Pluck by Jan RosenbergLove I Awethu Further by a.k. payne, CHINESE REPUBLICANS by Alex Lin, Natural History by Collin Van Son, and The Matriarchs by Liba Vaynberg

Rounding out the conferences hosted by the theatre will be the National Music Theater Conference, featuring the Incubator Concert and three musicals: The Dark Lady by Sophie Boyce and Veronica Mansour; Yoko’s Husband’s Killer’s Japanese Wife, Gloria by Clare Fuyuko Bierman, Brandy Hoang Collier, and Erika Ji; and Fountain by Christopher Anselmo and Jared Corak.

The Theater Center will also present a public reading of five short plays through its Young Playwrights Festival and works created by participants in the National Theater Institute's Theatermakers Summer Intensive. 

Finally, the theatre will again host arts writers and critics at the National Critics Institute.
