Principal casting has been revealed for Arena Stage's upcoming run of the Avett Brothers musical Swept Away. All four stars will reprise their performances from the work's 2022 world premiere at Berkeley Rep, including John Gallagher, Jr. (Spring Awakening), Stark Sands (& Juliet), Adrian Blake Enscoe (Dickinson), and Wayne Duvall (O Brother, Where Art Thou?).

The quartet play the four survivors—a young man in search of adventure, his older brother who has sworn to protect him, a captain at the end of a long career at sea, and a worldly first mate who has fallen from grace—of a whaling ship disaster off the coast of Massachusetts in 1888.

Featuring the songs of Grammy-nominated folk-rock band The Avett Brothers, a book by John Logan (Moulin Rouge! The Musical), and direction by Michael Mayer, the musical is set to run November 25–December 30 in the D.C. company's Kreeger Theater. Opening night is December 6.

Futher casting and creative team will be announced.
