News Aaron C. Finley Replaces David Burtka in Final Weeks of Broadway's It Shoulda Been You David Burtka has officially departed the cast of It Shoulda Been You, the new musical comedy about a wedding gone awry that will end its Broadway run Aug. 9.

The singing actor has been on medical leave for vocal issues for several weeks and had originally planned to return, according to a press representative for the musical. However, Burtka will not be able to step back into the production now that it has posted its closing notice. The actor, seen in the Bernadette Peters revival of Gypsy, wrote on twitter, "On medical leave from ISHBY for vocal issues. Upset I won’t be able to return as the show announced its final performance will be 8/9."

His replacement in the role is Aaron C. Finley, who will perform the part of Brian Howard through the final performance.

Conceived by Barbara Anselmi, It Shoulda Been You has book and lyrics by Brian Hargrove, with music by Anselmi and additional lyrics by Jill Abramovitz, Carla Rose Fisher, Michael Cooper, Ernie Lijoi and Will Randall. Tony and Emmy winner David Hyde Pierce (Curtains, "Frasier") makes his Broadway directorial debut with the production. He also staged its 2011 George Street Playhouse premiere.
