A Beautiful Noise Ends Broadway Run June 30

A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical plays its final performance on Broadway June 30 at the Broadhurst Theatre. The jukebox biomusical, which officially opened December 4, 2022, following previews that began November 2, will have played a total of 35 previews and 657 regular performances.

"Neil’s music has brought unadulterated joy to billions of people across the world," said producer Ken Davenport in an earlier statement. "Everyone at A Beautiful Noise is proud to say that we had a small hand in telling his inspiring life story on Broadway and sharing in that jubilation with our audiences. As the North American tour prepares to launch this fall, I look forward to A Beautiful Noise spreading the love to countless others."

A national tour is scheduled to launch in Providence, Rhode Island, later this year.

A Beautiful Noise takes a look at the life of the Grammy-winning Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Diamond, then and now, accompanied by hits from his decades-long career in popular music. All songs are written or co-written by Diamond with orchestrations by Bob Gaudio, Sonny Paladino, and Brian Usifer. The book is by Anthony McCarten.

Will Swenson starred as Neil Diamond–Then in the original company and was succeeded last year by current star Nick Fradiani, who will lead the national tour.

The current cast also includes Mark Jacoby as Neil Diamond–Now, Amber Ardolino as Marcia Murphey, Shirine Babb as Doctor, Jessie Fisher as Jaye Posner, Michael McCormick as Fred Weintraub/Tommy O’Rourke, Tom Alan Robbins as Bert Berns/Kieve Diamond, and Bri Sudia as Ellie Greenwich/Rose Diamond.

The ensemble, swings, and standbys include Neal Benari, Becky Gulsvig, Mateus Leite Cardoso, Gabrielle Djenné, Ninako Donville, Paige Faure, Kalonjee Gallimore, Anthony J. Garcia, Jess LeProtto, Tatiana Lofton, Dimitri Joseph Moïse, Alec Michael Ryan, Aveena Sawyer, Deandre Sevon, Vanessa Sierra, Annie Wallace, and Sean Watkinson.

Michael Mayer directs, leading a creative team that includes choreographer Steven Hoggett, scenic designer David Rockwell, costume designer Emilio Sosa, lighting designer Kevin Adams, sound designer Jessica Paz, and hair and wig designer Luc Verschueren. Music supervision and arrangements are by Sonny Paladino with incidental music and dance music arrangements by Brian Usifer and vocal design by AnnMarie Milazzo.
