The iconic songwriter and performer Carole King was on hand for the Feb. 24 opening night of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical at London's Aldwych Theatre. Reluctant to see her heartbreaks play out on stage, King had avoided the Broadway production for several months before seeing the show, but then quickly embraced it.
