Performances begin March 21 at the Cherry Lane Theatre for Sharon Washington's autobiographical solo show, Feeding the Dragon.

In the play, the Scottsboro Boys actor recall her childhood home on the top floor of the St. Agnes branch of the NYPL, where her father served as the building’s custodian, and how her love of books has helped her battle dragons—in all their forms—throughout her life.

Feeding the Dragon is written and performed by Washington with direction by Maria Mileaf, who helmed the show during its previous out-of-town runs in Pittsburgh and Hartford.

The Off-Broadway premiere of the show is presented by Primary Stages, in association with Jamie deRoy and Hartford Stage. Performances are scheduled through April 27.

Post-performance talkbacks led by a member of the artistic staff will follow performances on April 8, 15, and 22. For more information visit PrimaryStages.org.
