The Glass Menagerie star says she always watched the Tony Awards “from a distance”—until now.

Before taking on a starring role in the current Broadway revival of The Glass Menagerie, 2017 Tony nominee Sally Field hadn’t been on a Broadway stage since 2002—when she replaced Mercedes Ruehl as Stevie in Edward Albee’s The Goat. On May 2, Field was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Play for her performance in The Glass Menagerie. Watch her interview with Playbill in the video above.
