Anna and the Apocalypse, the new zombie musical described as “Shaun of the Dead meets La La Land,” hits theatres November 30. Set during Christmas, a zombie apocalypse threatens the sleepy town of Little Haven, forcing Anna, played by Ella Hunt, and her friends to fight, slash, and sing their way to survival.
The film evolved from the 2012 short film Zombie Musical (by “Ryan Gosling Won’t Eat His Cereal” creator Ryan McHenry) with a screenplay co-penned by McHenry and Alan McDonald; it features a pop-rock score from first-time musical composers Tommy Reilly and Roddy Hart. John McPhall directs.
