National Disability Theatre has announced a partnership with La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego and Chicago's Goodman Theatre to commission two new works written by artists with disabilities.

Obie winner and Pulitzer Prize finalist Christopher Shinn (Where Do We Live, Dying City) and Gregg Mozgala (Teenage Dick, The Cost of Living) were selected to workshop their pieces during the 2019–2020 season.

In addition to being written by artists with disabilities, the works will be directed, designed, and performed by artists and actors with disabilities.

Mickey Rowe and Talleri A. McRae, the executive leadership team of the National Disability Theatre, will also serve as artists-in-residence at La Jolla Playhouse for the upcoming season.
