Two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage (Sweat, Ruined) has been named a Pioneer on Time magazine's annual Time 100: Most Influential People of 2019. The list showcases a number of extraordinary (and controversial) individuals working across politics, arts, society, and culture, from professor Christine Blasey Ford to primatologist and anthropologist Jane Goodall.

Other names in the arts and entertainment realm include Killing Eve star Sandra Oh, who was also listed under Pioneers, as well as performers Dwayne Johnson (Moana), Regina King (Oscar winner for If Beale Street Could Talk), Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke, Oscar winner Brie Larson, Ariana Grande, two-time Oscar winner Mahershala Ali, three-time Tony winner Glenn Close, Oscar-nominated Roma star Yalitza Aparicio, and Oscar winner Rami Malek, who were all listed under Artists.

Among those listed under the eyebrow of Icons were former First Lady, advocate and best-selling author Michelle Obama, heralded filmmaker Spike Lee, and A Star Is Born's Lady Gaga.

Screen and stage producer Ryan Murphy (The Boys in the Band) was also listed as a Titan, alongside CBS anchor Gayle King.
