To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots, New York University hosts Beyond Stonewall: Vital Voices in American Playwriting February 11 at at the Skirball Center.

The 6:30 PM event, part of the Skirball Talks series, features four award-winning playwrights who have broken ground across generations as artists and activists: Larry Kramer (The Normal Heart), Matthew Lopez (The Inheritance), Terrence McNally (Love! Valour! Compassion!), and Lucy Thurber (The Hill Town Plays). Activist, lawyer, and producer Tom Kirdahy will moderate the evening.

All four playwrights have created characters and stories illuminating the lives of the LGBTQ+ community, helping inform and transform American and global culture.

Held weekly every Monday at 6:30 PM during the academic terms, Skirball Talks hosts visionaries from the worlds of politics, the arts, sciences, academia, and more.
