Representatives for the Broadway-aimed production did not comment on details in the shifts taking place, but did confirm that the previously announced Boston world premiere will go on as scheduled. Performances will begin November 30 at the Emerson Colonial Theatre.

The long-gestating musical has been in the works for nearly seven years, with Pulitzer winners Brian Yorkey and Tom Kitt composing the score and Riverdale scribe Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa writing the book. Trip Cullman and Camille A. Brown (currently Tony-nominated for Choir Boy) had also signed on as director and choreographer, respectively.

Channing Tatum, who took on the title role in the 2012 movie and its 2015 sequel, serves as a producer alongside the original film’s director Steven Soderbergh, Magic Mike XXL's Gregory Jacobs, screenwriter Reid Carolin, Nick Wechsler, and Free Association’s Peter Kiernan, plus executive producers Nina Essman and Marcia Goldberg.
