Green Acres the Musical, based on the 1965–1971 TV sitcom starring Eva Gabor and Eddie Albert, is currently in development from Center Stage Capital, Inc., a new entertainment company founded by Pam Laudenslager and Colleen Lober.

The company, which allows investors to engage in four original theatrical productions, is also developing Mother Eve’s Secret Garden of Sensual Sisterhood, Empyrea, and In the Room.

Produced by Laudenslager, Lober, and Richard Chapman, Green Acres will feature a book, music, and lyrics by Tor Hyams and Lisa Rothauser; Thomas Caruso (Southern Comfort) will direct. The musical comedy, which will feature the TV theme song, concerns the love story of Oliver (a Manhattan attorney) and Lisa Douglas (an aspiring fashion designer), who are currently living in Manhattan. Faced with the overwhelming pressure to run his family’s law firm and live up to his father’s reputation, Oliver longs for the simple life, but New York and all that it has to offer is Lisa’s perfect world.

Mother Eve’s Secret Garden of Sensual Sisterhood, with a book by Erica Jensen, Kirk McGee, and Uma Incrocci, lyrics by Incrocci, and music by Christian Pedersen, is an Off-Broadway-aimed rock musical comedy about a self-help guru, her students, and the lengths they’ll go to find happiness. The show is a loving sendup of the self-help movement, celebrating individuality and the power of positive thinking with humor.

Tracey Corea and Colleen Lober's Empyrea, billed as “a sensory experience of the ages,” will transport audiences to a world of music, dance, and physical feats. Set in the 22nd century—when the Earth has been completely ravaged—an annual competition is hosted by the barren city of Empyrea to discern the most daring, ruthless athlete. Empyrea will be staged in a tent with 360-degree projections and a multilevel set that runs through and over the audience.

In the Room, which chronicles the life and career of Pulitzer Prize winner David Hume Kennerly, is in the initial development stage. Photojournalist Kennerly’s view of the historical landscape is defined by key events through his lens and photos over five decades; he has covered many Presidents, Heads of State, movie stars, athletes, and fashion icons.
