DESCRIPTION

The role of the usher is to
● Greet patrons and assist them in finding their seat
● Assist guests with locating exits and amenities such as restrooms and concession areas.
● Assist guests with limited mobility or other special needs to and from their seats.
● Ensures that aisles, walkways, and designated seating areas are clear, clean, and safe.
● Ushers may also be asked to provide audience members with programs, and tend to
their safety while entering and exiting the theater
Requirements
● Ability to lift 25 lbs waist high, and able to assist with set up of furniture for events as
directed.
● Ability to descend/ascend ramps and inclines/declines
● Ability to stand for long periods of time.
● Work in a fast-paced, busy environment with environmental conditions such as noise,
dark/dim/absence of lighting.
● Ability to bend, stretch, reach and kneel without restriction.
● Conflict resolution skills.
● Communicate effectively in English.
● Must be able to open theater doors repeatedly throughout shifts.
● Deal effectively with a wide variety of personalities and situations requiring diplomacy,
tact, friendliness,poise and firmness
● Demonstrate an understanding of, sensitivity to and appreciation for the diverse ethnic,
socio-economic, disability and gender diversity of guests and staff attending or working
with the Performing Arts Center
● High School Diploma or equivalent
● Proof of eligibility to work in the United States

SALARY

$18.00 – $20.00 per hour
