About The Position

Harlem Stage On-call Ushers provide best-in-class customer service to audiences at Harlem Stage events and perform duties as assigned. Training will be provided.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

• Greeting and checking in guests at events
• Contributing to a best-in-class experience at Harlem Stage by being polite and attentive
• Responding quickly and courteously to patron needs, questions, comments, or concerns
• Attend pre-event meetings for assignments, event details, and talking points
• Assist in event preparation and strike
• Be ready at call time in appropriate dress for scheduled shifts
• Adhering to dress code of All Black button-down shirt, pants, socks and softs-soul shoes
• Assisting as needed with coat check, distributing programs, and escorting patrons to seats
• Monitoring physical surroundings prior to and throughout event for safety, cleanliness, and functionality
• Conducting post-event walk throughs to retrieve and return any lost items
• Attending meetings and job trainings as assigned

Qualifications:

• A positive, flexible attitude and a commitment to quality customer service
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Enjoy working with the public
• Ability to learn and use Tablets and scanners
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills including the ability to maintain composure under stress
• The willingness to work varied hours, including mornings, evenings and weekends

Rate: $25hr (4 hour minimum)
