SEEKING

Equity and non-union actors for roles in Bridging Turtle Island: ATE and ITMÉXICO Present New Works (see breakdown).

Call for a dynamic, versatile ensemble of 8 actors. All actors will play multiple roles across scenes excerpted from new works by multiple writers. Strong comedic timing, fast character switching, and new work development experience are highly desired.

Some works feature:
- Latinx/Indigenous-identifying characters
- Queer characters
- Characters across a wide age range (teens to 50s)
- Comedic and dramatic roles

Specific role breakdowns will be provided at callbacks.

Actors of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, abilities, and body types are encouraged to submit. QT,BIPOC, and Spanish-English bilingual actors are especially encouraged to apply.

Three (3) of the available roles will be reserved for mid-career/established actors with an interest in mentorship, with five (5) additional roles prioritized for emerging artists.*

*This opportunity is funded by the California Arts Council Creative Youth Development grant, which supports actors ages 18-24. Therefore, applicants must be within this age range to be eligible for the emerging artist roles. Applicants of all ages (18+) will be considered for mentorship roles.

PREPARATION

Please prepare two short contrasting monologues (1–2 minutes each). If submitting as an Emerging Artist, include your video response to the prompt specified below.

CONTRACT

- 29-Hour Reading Agreement (AEA / Non-Union welcome)
- $25/hour; up to 29 hours total | $725 maximum
- Prioritizing Local San Francisco Bay Area Talent

LOCATION

Angelico Hall Theatre at Dominican University of California San Rafael, CA

Rehearsals and performance will take place in person in rehearsal spaces across DUC.
