Via Brooklyn Theatre Co. is seeking a PR & Marketing Independent Contractor to begin work on their production of “Testament” written by Tristan Bernays and directed by Lucy Jane Atkinson, that was filmed under a SAG-AFTRA contract in Fall 2020 for release on Vimeo on Demand later this Winter 2021. We anticipate this position working entirely remotely.




Via Brooklyn is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit theatre company that develops theatrical productions, coupled with interactive programming, to engage audiences around the world. Our mission is to foster enthusiasm, contemplation, and community by blurring the traditional lines between stage, canvas, camera, music, page, and everything in between. A sacrificial son. Sisters with a shocking secret. A man on Death Row. “Testamentinvites you to bear witness to the dark underbelly of The Good Book. Set in modern day America, “Testament” explores the compelling re-imagining of four oft-forgotten Bible characters against a haunting score of gospel and blues as we behold how their lives have unfolded in today’s society.





-Work with the company on designing a comprehensive PR & marketing campaign 

-Write and submit press releases to contacts at US newspapers, periodicals, websites, blogs, etc.

-Scout and submit for US interview opportunities

-Put together and submit press kit to go to US theatre and film reviewers

-US ad placement




-BA or BFA in Theatre, English, Film Studies, Communications, or Journalism

-Relevant PR & Marketing Experience

-Strong understanding of the theatre and film worlds, especially in NYC

-Strong knowledge of relevant publications, both in print and virtually

-Excellent writing and communication skills

-Able to meet all deadlines punctually

-A true team player and ensemble member




$1,000 flat fee with separate budget for all materials, ad placement, etc. Candidate will be hired under a 1099.




We would like to begin work immediately as the planned release date is March 2021, with PR and marketing happening in the lead up.
