Intentions by Allison Svagdis is premiering in New York City as part of the SheNYC Festival at the Connelly Theatre.
Intentions tell the story of a young woman in a cyclical pattern of past relationships in which she unsuccessfully attempts to break out of her unhappiness, all underscored by her mounting courage to confront the sexual assault trauma of her past. As guilt, self-blame, and anger manifest into an inescapable physical adversary, Girl must reclaim her autonomy by facing her demons- inside and out.
The SheNYC Festival runs July 27- August 8. Intentions performs on August 5, 2021 with a possible second performance (TBD).

GIRL (20’s): Pretty. Lost. Dry sense of humour. Too honest. Always trying to figure out who she is.
A (30’s-50’s): Lost. Charming. Desperate. Cute. The sweetest, most innocent guy- until he isn’t. He is like a wolf in a sheep’s clothing.
Therapist (20’s-30’s): A young professional. Neat. Figuring it out as he goes.
Amelia (20’s-30’s): GIRL’s sister, a wild child. She loves hard, fiercely, unapologetically.

*B: Also lost. Kind and understanding. Looks for answers in the wrong places.
*C: Too confident for his own good. Money and success are his main priority. Has never felt shame.
*D: Kind, to a fault. Not too bright. Low self-confidence.
