Reports To: Office Manager
Employment Status: Part-time hourly position averaging 10-25 hours per week occurring mainly during evenings and weekends.
-- Provide CIVIC patrons with an exceptional experience from arrival to departure in all venues including off-site and outdoor events.
-- Manage the front-of-house duties and staff (ushers, box office, concessions, etc) for all CIVIC performances and all rental events
-- Oversee the safety and security of volunteers, production teams, and patrons during performances and events including accessibility issues and COVID-19 procedures:
-- Design and control patron movement to maintain required physical distancing
-- Ensure masks are worn at all times by patrons and CIVIC front-of-house volunteers
-- Supervise temperature-taking at entry
-- Maintain hand-sanitizing stations throughout the building
-- Wipe down and/or spray high-traffic surfaces at intermission
-- Maintain cleanliness of theatres, lobbies, and bathrooms before, during, and after performances and events
-- Communicate with housekeeping, facility, box-office, and production staff as needed
-- Train front-of-house volunteers on best practice, code of conduct, and emergency action plan
-- Update usher room with current show information, programs, inserts, water, flashlights, etc.
-- Complete front-of-house reports for each performance/event
-- Assist box office with ticketing issues when applicable
-- Step in as alcohol server as necessary
-- Keep food handling, liquor license, and Amusement and Entertainment permits up to date
-- Oversee concessions, including reconciling cash at end of each event or performance
-- Restock concessions inventory before each performance or event
-- Address patron questions, complaints, and concerns as they arise
-- Be a smiling welcoming face to all who enter the building
Essential Position Requirements:
-- Ability to speak, hear, and see.
-- Proficiency in the English language (proficiency in Spanish is a plus)
-- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
-- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, climb up to three flights of stairs, and lift up to 30lbs.
