Electronic LightSuit 2nd Technician (2023/2024) - iLuminate National Tour and Off-Broadway Residency.


iLuminate is a company that fuses technology and art in live entertainment (www.iLuminate.com). We are currently seeking an experienced LightSuit 2nd Technician to join our team on iLuminate’s upcoming 2023/2024 National Tour and holiday residency Off-Broadway in New York City.

NYC Based Touring Electronic LightSuit Technician

We are looking for our next Light Suit Technician to join our iLuminate tour team. The main objective of this role is to assist in building, maintenance and repairs of the light suits and show, and transition into working backstage during the performances. Backstage responsibilities during performances include fixing suits and running a deck/stagehand track. You will serve as a key link between the day to day, loading in and out of venues/ training on-site technical teams, communicating with the technical lead, wardrobe supervisor and stage manager for smooth and clean transition, project notes and information. All duties are to be performed in accordance with department and property policies, practices, and procedures.


Key Dates

Training will begin in Las Vegas on ASAP (Travel and Housing provided)

Technical Rehearsals – September 27th – 28th; October 2nd

First (2023) tour date: October 3, 2023

Last (2023) tour date: November 5, 2023

Off- Broadway: November 17, 2023 – January 21, 2024

First (2024) tour date: February 29, 2024

Last (2024) tour date: April 22, 2024

The tour will include up to a 6-show week schedule on tour. Bus travel and single occupancy housing included. Occasional flights as necessary.

The residency Off-Broadway will include an 8-show week schedule. Housing and travel NOT provided.

Candidates must be based in the NYC area to be considered. Looking to interview and hire immediately.

Requirements:
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a live event technician
* Proficient soldering skills
* Proficient with signal flow concepts and troubleshooting
* Experience working with EL wire, LED lights and fiber optics a plus
* Comfortable using and navigating on Windows, Linux and Mac OS based systems
* Experience working with dancers and other onstage talent
* Works well under pressure, and is a team player
* Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Must be self-motivated, have initiative, and work with little to no supervision
* Good hand dexterity, attentiveness to detail, and efficiency + speed are a must
* Able to take direction with a positive attitude and work well/ respect fellow colleagues
* Working knowledge of Google applications (Doc, Sheets);
* Previous experience in a multicultural group environment is a plus;
* Ability to perform the essential functions of the job including, but not limited to: crouching, kneeling, standing, lifting, sometimes for extended amounts of time; lifting at least 50 lbs unassisted.
* Availability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays;

* Assist in day to day maintenance and projects
* Communicate daily show notes
* Maintain quality work practices and maintenance techniques;

* Must have a valid passport or be able to obtain one before the tour starts.

* Assist our wardrobe department when necessary for cross-departmental support;
* Complete all other job-related duties as assigned.

Salary: $1,550/week (Inclusive of Per-Diem while on tour)
