Assistant Wardrobe Supervisor


Ogunquit Playhouse, Ogunquit, Maine seeks an experienced Assistant Wardrobe Supervisor for our 2024 Season and Arts Academy productions. Approximate dates of employment vary per position between March 2024 and November 2024.


Ideal Candidate: Must be detail-oriented and remain focused in a fast-paced working environment. Wardrobe Crew experience required; sewing/stitching skills are required.


Job Duties/Expectations include (but are not limited to):

- Assist the actors with changes, quick-changes and costume tracking.

- Foster and maintain a positive and productive work environment backstage, in dressing rooms, and in wardrobe rooms.

- Maintain costume quality at each performance.

- Provide emergency repairs and substitutions during performances and dress rehearsals in coordination with input from Costume Shop Supervisor and Wardrobe Supervisor.

- Reinforce buttons, quick rig garments, repair rips/tears, repair hems, label garments.

- Report directly to the Wardrobe Supervisor.

- Assist Wardrobe Supervisor with necessary wardrobe paperwork, organization of load-in/strike, and transport of costumes.

- Attend or watch video of designer run to determine quick changes and other costume related problems.

- Ensure that the wardrobe rooms, backstage areas, and dressing rooms are kept in a clean and tidy manner.

- Participate in laundry duty after performances within the Wardrobe Department.

- Support Arts Academy programming.

- Keep a daily cleaning and project log.


Position is a W2, $20/hr plus O/T and housing included.

Ogunquit Playhouse will now be offering Health insurance to all employees who are with the company for 120+ consecutive days and work at least 30 hours weekly. Ogunquit Playhouse will cover 75% of employee’s company sponsored Health insurance premium. Dental and Vision insurance will also be available at the employee’s expense. Employees who work the Ogunquit Playhouse’s entire season will also accrue Earned Paid Leave up to 40 hours. Eligibility is based on the length of the contract. Shortening the length of that contract may affect eligibility.
