Broadway Bound Kids’ Mission:
Established in 2004, Broadway Bound Kids is a nonprofit providing a transformative and inclusive environment that inspires youth through performing arts education. We provide comprehensive interactive programs for Pre-K through 12th Grade in the performing arts that focus on enhancing technical skills, social emotional learning, confidence, connection, mindfulness, and creativity. Social justice is central to our programming and organizational culture as we work to break down societal and financial barriers for youth, their families, and their communities. We cultivate communities of open hearts and minds amongst a diverse cross section of youth in New York City and beyond by enabling every student to explore all they can be, on stage and off.
Position Purpose and Impact:
Provide administrative support for the overall operation of our organization so that we can work efficiently and effectively serve our community. As a core member of our small admin team, this role will also have a voice as we look for new ways to fulfill our mission and implement and improve our social justice initiatives.
Position Complexities
This position requires an individual who is especially detail-oriented and has strong organizational, communication, customer service and administrative skills. It requires an individual who is eager to collaborate but also extremely self disciplined and can work independently and remotely. Efficiency is a key in this position and we are looking for a team player who gets excited about an organized spreadsheet and assisting in creating and maintaining clear systems, tools and documents.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations
Assist Executive Director and Programs team with administrative tasks
Maintain superb customer service for parents/guardians and partners that reflects our values Provide customer service and be a point of contact for parents/guardians and partners.
Assist in managing our CRM
Learn the registration system and create and update program registrations as needed
Assist in managing and organizing all media storage and files-, Google Drive, Calendars, Asana Zoom, Vimeo, Flckr etc
Marketing
Assist with online class and event listings
Share ideas and insight in marketing brainstorming sessions when applicable
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Social Justice
Assist in creating and executing our ongoing actionable steps to advance social justice, diversity, equity and inclusion in and through our organization.
Program Support
Support Education Director and Assistant Education Director with all program needs
Set up and maintain Teaching Artist shared drive
Track Site Reports, attendance, invoices and Teaching Artist hours
Send Monthly reminders for site reports/timesheets
Order all necessary supplies for programs
Keep detailed and organized records of important school details, policies dates and calendars
Track data from schools and students (enrollment numbers, return students, etc)
Assist in Assist in creation, implementation, and dissemination of survey forms for ASDs, students, families, and TAs
Ensure that liability waivers are on file for all students where applicable
Development
Assist in organization and coordination of annual fundraiser
Assist in tracking information as needed for Grant Requirements
Assist in finding new grant and donor opportunities
Assist in soliciting for and gathering auction items
Assist in cultivating donors, volunteers and advocates
Promote fundraising initiatives and campaigns
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A passion for arts education and giving kids a place to belong and be heard.
Two years of experience in an administrative role
High school graduation or equivalent
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Proven writing skills, detail-orientation, ability to coordinate multiple projects, and manage multiple software programs.
Experience in administrative tasks and efficiency
Demonstrated proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Google platforms
DESIRED:
Office Management experience
Demonstrated proficiency in CRM, Eventbrite registrations, zoom and project management software.
Bachelor’s degree

Hours:
15-25 per week (all currently remote)
Location:
This position is currently remote but we hope to return to some in person work in NYC when it is safe to do so.
Job Type:
This position is a part-time, independent contractor position.
Benefits:
Contractor will not be expected to work most national and school holidays
Contractor will receive PTO for 16 days annually paid at 5hrs/ day.
