Studio Acting Conservatory, “Washington DC’s premier training facility for actors and directors”, is holding an online summer intensive. Join our artistic community of over 10,000 alumni to unleash your full creative potential through quality, rigorous, and time-honored training.
Our classes will be held online on Zoom twice-a-week, beginning June 8th, and all classes are 25% off!
Take a beginning acting class: Our registrars will help place you in one of the two classes based on your previous experience or training.
ACTOR'S PROCESS ($420)
- Mondays/Wednesdays 8-10pm
Develop and sharpen self-awareness, observation, creative imagination, improvisational skills, and the articulate use of the body and voice. Build and heighten responsiveness to action. Work on a monologue.
PRINCIPLES OF REALISM ($420)
- Mondays/Thursdays 3-5:30pm
- Mondays/Wednesdays 8-10:30pm
- Tuesdays/Thursdays 8-10:30pm
Develop a process using stimulus-response, motivation, characterization, interplay, text, and subtext. Includes pantomime, improvisation, and scene work on a character from a realistic play.
Strengthen your body and voice: Train your instrument, the essential to the work of all actors.
MOVEMENT 1 ($255*)
- Mondays/Wednesdays, 6:30-8pm
Identify, relax, and warm up parts of the body that hold tension. Develop free movement and expressiveness. Work on posture, gesture, walking, and expanding physical potential.
VOICE 1 ($285*)
- Mondays/Thursdays, 6:30-8pm
Provides basic techniques for vocal preparation and performance. Develop projection, vocal quality, range, energy, and expressiveness through relaxation exercises and basic physical work.
SINGER'S PROCESS ($375)
- Mondays 6-9pm
Basics of singing with an emphasis on freeing the body; expanding the breath capacity and creating sound; learning to sing on pitch; exploring and understanding lyrics, rhythm, and emotion of a song; and singing with a piano.
*Receive an additional $125 discount on Movement 1 or Voice 1 when paired with an acting class above
