Back in 2009, actors Will Chase and Malcolm Gets starred in a two-character Broadway musical about a lifelong friendship. The friendship lasted decades but the musical stayed at the Booth Theatre for five performances.

The show, which had previously been done at the O'Neill Center, Goodspeed Musicals, the Manhattan Theatre Club, and the Canadian Stage Company, attracted a small but loyal following, some drawn by the original cast album, which was released by PS Classics. They will be pleased to know that the two original stars will reunite for a concert performance of the show 7 PM December 10 at Feinstein’s/54 Below in New York City.

The show has music and lyrics by Neil Bartram and a book by Brian Hill. The pair collaborated on other musicals including The Theory of Relativity, The Adventures of Pinocchio, and Something Wicked This Way Comes, and they have been engaged by Disney to write a stage adaptation of the 1971 film musical Bedknobs and Broomsticks.

Chase recently appeared on Broadway playing William Shakespeare in Something Rotten!. He earned 2013 Tony Award and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations for his portrayal of John Jasper in the Broadway revival of The Mystery of Edwin Drood. Other Broadway credits include Billy Elliot, Aida, Lennon, High Fidelity, and Roger in Rent.

Gets earned his Tony nomination in the lead role of Amour. Film and TV credits include Grey Gardens and Confirmation (both for HBO), The Good Wife, Suits, Law & Order, and Caroline in the City.

Feinstein’s/54 Below is located at 254 West 54th Street, beneath Studio 54, in Manhattan. Tickets, which cost $45 to $55 (plus a $25 food/drink minimum), can be ordered here. Tickets on the day of performance after 4 PM are available only by calling (646) 476-3551.
