Cabaret & Concert News Wayward Brainchildren Offers Something to Think About in NYC November 19 Brooklyn Sound stars Julia Mattison and Noel Carey bring their comedy revue to Joe’s Pub.

Noel Carey and Julia Mattison, creators and stars of the hit web series Brooklyn Sound, are returning to Joe’s Pub in New York City 9:30 PM November 19 with their musical comedy club show Noel and Julia’s Home for Wayward Brainchildren, which they premiered there in January.

The duo plans to share “some brand new songs for upcoming projects, deep cuts from Brooklyn Sound, and perhaps a musical orphan or two that are still looking for a home.”

Carey and Mattison won the the 2016 Streamy Award for Best Indie for Brooklyn Sound, about life at a failing recording studio. The series, which was nominated for a 2017 Webby Award as Best Comedy, earned them a development deal at Comedy Central.

A veteran of the Upright Citizens Brigade improv troupe, Mattison appeared in the Broadway revival of Godspell. Carey, who has written musicals including Zazou, The Showmen, and Seven Minutes in Heaven, was the subject of an August cabaret show, Opening Numbers by Noel Carey, at Feinstein’s/54 Below in New York City. He also appeared as an actor in regional productions of Million Dollar Quartet.

Tickets for the Joe’s Pub show cost $20 and can be ordered here. Joe’s Pub is located inside the Public Theater complex at 425 Lafayette Street in Manhattan.
