Watch Waitress’ Sara Bareilles Sing Her Newest Song ‘Armor’ | Playbill

Film & TV News Watch Waitress’ Sara Bareilles Sing Her Newest Song ‘Armor’ The Tony nominee and former Tony host performed live on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.

Waitress composer-lyricist Sara Bareilles has released her latest project—crossing back over to the pop charts with her new album Armor. She appeared on the November 28 episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert to sing the title track.

The Tony– and Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter has been fully immersed in the theatre world since the launch of Waitress, beginning with its out-of-town tryout in Boston through its continued Broadway run. (She even stepped into the lead role on Broadway for two separate stints.) She appeared in The Little Mermaid at the Hollywood Bowl and co-hosted the 2018 Tony Awards with fellow musician-turned-Broadway star Josh Groban.

Though she is at work promoting the new album, the theatre kid inside her and the theatre professional she has proven herself to be is alive and well. Her Waitress will open in March 2019 in London starring Katharine McPhee.
