Before opening on Broadway January 12, 2012, The Gershwins’ Porgy & Bess—with Tony nominee Norm Lewis and Tony winner Audra McDonald in the title roles—ran at American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, MA. A.R.T. has released an archival video clip from that 2011 production featuring McDonald and Lewis performing "Bess, You Is My Woman Now." Check out the video above. 

The new production of the classic American love story by George Gershwin, DuBose and Dorothy Heyward, and Ira Gershwin was adapted by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Susan-Lori Parks and Diedre L. Murra and directed by Tony winner Diane Paulus with choreography by Ronald K. Brown. It ran at American Repertory Theater August 17–October 2, 2011. 

The Broadway production won the Tony for Best Revival of a Musical and Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical for McDonald.
