Regional News Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts Sets World Premiere of Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo Jukebox Musical Invincible

The musical is a reimagining of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.

As part of Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts' 2022-2023 season, the world premiere of Invincible - The Musical, featuring the music of Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, will play November 22–December 17.

The musical reimagines William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet for the 21st century. The Los Angeles-based production will feature a book by Bradley Bredeweg; music direction and arrangements by Jesse Vargas; and orchestrations and arrangements by Neil Giraldo. A showcase of the musical previously ran November 10–12, 2021 at Los Angeles' The Bourbon Room under the direction of Scott Schwartz (London's The Prince of Egypt).

Additional highlights from the current season includes evenings with Seth Rudetsky featuing Lillias White and Stephanie J. Block November 3 and May 4, respectively; an adaptation of Emily Brontë's Wuthering Heights from January 11-22, 2023, the Sheldon Epps-directed My Lord, What A Night from May 23 to June 11, 2023; and a special evening with Stephen Schwartz, with dates and tickets to be announced.
