The world premiere engagement at London's Park Theatre of Tony [The Tony Blair Rock Opera] officially opens June 8. The run began with preview performances June 1, and is set to continue through July 9.

Comedian and singer Charle Baker stars as the titular politician Tony Blair, joined by School of Rock's Gary Trainor as Gordon Brown. Blair served as Leader of the Labour Party and Prime Minister from 1997 to 2007, with Brown serving as Chancellor of the Exchequer during Blair's tenure prior to succeeding him as Leader and Prime Minister.

Featuring a book by stand-up comedian Harry Hill with music and lyrics by Steve Brown, Peter Rowe directs the satirical look at the life of Britain’s first pop Prime Minister Tony Blair. The work looks at the journey of Blair from hippy and would-be pop star to politician and multimillionaire against a backdrop of political intrigue, religion, power, and romance.

Starring alongside Baker and Trainor are Howard Samuels as Peter Mandelson, Rosie Strobel as John Prescott, Madison Swan as Princess Diana, Holly Sumpton as Cherie Blair, Kaye Brown as Robin Cook, Adam Price as Neil Kinnock, and Marisa Harris as ensemble and understudy.

The creative team also includes choreographer Francesca Jaynes, sound designer Andre T, and set and costume designer Libby Watson.
