There's No Stopping Off-Broadway's Between Riverside and Crazy | Playbill

News There's No Stopping Off-Broadway's Between Riverside and Crazy Second Stage Theatre has announced that due to high ticket demand, Stephen Adly Guirgis' Between Riverside and Crazy will be extended for two more weeks, now playing through March 22.

The show premiered Off-Broadway at the Altantic Theatre in 2014 where it garnered critical acclaim and quickly sold out its entire run. Currently in previews, it is being revived with the same creative team and cast at Second Stage's Tony Kiser Theatre. Opening night is set for Feb. 11.

Directed by Austin Pendleton, the cast features Stephen McKinley Henderson, Victor Almanzar, Elizabeth Canavan, Rosal Colón, Liza Colón-Zayas, Ron Cephas Jones and Michael Rispoli.

The play presents a comedic look at life in rent-controlled New York City. According to press notes: "For ex-cop and recent widower Walter “Pops” Washington and his recently paroled son Junior, the struggle to hold on to one of the last great rent stabilized apartments on Riverside Drive collides with old wounds, sketchy new houseguests, and a final ultimatum in this dark comedy from the Tony nominated author of The Motherf*cker with the Hat and Jesus Hopped the A Train."

The production has scenic design by Walt Spangler; costume design by Alexis Forte; lighting design by Keith Parham; and sound design and original music by Ryan Rumery.

Tickets are available by calling (212) 246 4422 or by visiting online at 2ST.com. Second Stage's Tony Kiser Theatre is located at 305 West 43rd St., New York.
