News Spider-Man and "Glee" Writer Bringing "Brides of Dracula" Series to Primetime Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the writer behind Broadway's Spider-Man and the upcoming musical American Psycho, has signed a deal with NBC to create a new television series that will bring a modern, sexy spin to the Brides of Dracula tale.

Deadline reports that Aguirre-Sacasa, who also wrote for such shows as "Glee" and "Big Love," is working with producer Greg Berlanti ("Supergirl" with Laura Benanti) on the pilot that has production commitment from NBC.

The series is characterized as a family drama featuring diverse and empowered female leads will explore what could have happened to the Brides of Dracula if they had survived and were now living in New York City. The characters hail from the Bram Stoker novel.

American Psycho, which features a book by Aguirre-Sacasa and a score by Spring Awakening Tony winner Duncan Sheik, will arrive on Broadway in February 2016.
