The Tony Awards nominations have been announced and it's a varied bunch of actors. This year, Suzan-Lori Parks' Topdog/Underdog dominates the Best Actor in a Leading Role in a Play category with two nominations for Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Corey Hawkins. Also nominated are Sean Hayes for Good Night, Oscar, Stephen McKinley Henderson for Between Riverside and Crazyand Wendell Pierce for Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman.

Nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role in a Play are Jessica Chastain for A Doll's HouseJodie Comer for Prima Facie, Jessica Hecht for Summer, 1976, and Audra McDonald for Ohio State Murders. Out of these group of nominees, Chastain and Comer are first-time nominees.

Nominated for Best Actress in a Featured Role in a Play are Nikki Crawford for Fat HamCrystal Lucas-Perry for Ain't No Mo'Miriam Silverman for The Sign in Sidney Brustein's Window, Katy Sullivan for Cost of Livingand Kara Young for Cost of Living. Sullivan is notable for being the rare disabled actor nominated for a Tony Award (the previous actor with a disability to be honored was Ali Stroker). Sullivan's Cost of Living costar Kara Young is also nominated, making the play the dominant work in the category.

Nominated for Best Actor in a Featured Role in a Play are Jordan E. Cooper for Ain't No Mo',
Samuel L. Jackson for August Wilson's The Piano Lesson, Arian Moayed for A Doll's House,
Brandon Uranowitz for Leopoldstadtand David Zayas for Cost of Living. Cooper is also nominated for Best Play for Ain't No Mo', which he wrote—and he is also the youngest Black writer to have a play on Broadway.

Winners will be named at a starry ceremony June 11 at United Palace Theatre in Washington Heights. The evening will kick off with The Tony Awards: Act One, a 90-minute pre-show of live and exclusive content set to stream for free on Pluto TV beginning at 6:30 PM ET.
