Santino Fontana, who returns to Broadway later this season in the new musical Tootsie, will be the focus of a Drama Desk interview/Q&A event January 15 at 6 PM.
Drama Desk member Michael Portantiere will host the evening at Ripley Grier Studios, 520 8th Ave. (between 36th and 37th Streets) on the 17th floor (room 17-N). Limited general admission seating is available for the public (non Drama Desk members) for $5; make reservations at email@example.com (put “RSVP Santino Fontana event” in the subject line).
In addition to his latest Broadway role, Fontana will also discuss We'll Have Manhattan: Rodgers & Hart in New York, his tribute to the great songwriting team that will be performed January 26–28 as part of the Lyrics & Lyricists series at the 92nd Street Y. The show will feature Santino as well as Jessica Fontana, Ann Harada, Vishal Vaidya, and his Tootsie co-star Lilli Cooper. Gina Rattan directs with musical direction by Andy Einhorn and arrangements and orchestrations by David Chase. For tickets, visit 92y.org/event.
Fontana recently starred in the City Center Encores! productions of God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater and 1776.
