Off-Broadway News Roundabout Announces Two Shows for 2022–23 Off-Broadway Season

The company has set new dates for Anna Ziegler's The Wanderers and will present the world premiere of Harrison David Rivers' the bandaged place.

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced two updates for its Fall/Winter 2022–23 Off-Broadway programming: new dates for Anna Ziegler's The Wanderers and the addition of the world premiere production of Harrison David Rivers' play the bandaged place. 

Initially scheduled but postponed from the 2020–21 season, The Wanderers will begin performances January 26, 2023 at the Laura Pels Theater in the Harold & Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre. Ziegler made her Roundabout premiere in 2017 with the Roundabout Underground production of The Last Match. Barry Edelstein will direct The Wanderers, a play that explores the happiness and challenges facing two couples, that of newlywed Orthodox Jews Esther and Schmuli and secular Jew Abe, whose marriage is tested by an email from a movie star. 

The world premiere of the bandaged place by Harrison David Rivers will open the 2022 Roundabout Underground season with performances beginning October 20. David Mendizábal will direct the new work, centering on a man named Jonah who turns to his daughter and grandmother for support when a former lover turns up, re-opening a painful wound. the bandaged place is the winner of the 2018 Relentless Award. 

Roundabout’s current Off-Broadway slate at the Harold & Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre includes Exception to the Rule and what the end will be. Meanwhile, the company’s Broadway production of Birthday Candles begins performances March 18.
